Deeplocal is seeking a Media Systems Field Engineer to help create first-of-their-kind interactive exhibits and spaces for the world’s top brands, including Google, TikTok, Meta, and others.  The ideal candidate will have a mastery in engineering & building audiovisual, and IT systems in order to deliver tightly integrated installations in architectural environments, while working closely alongside a diverse interdisciplinary group of designers, technologists and engineers.  In addition to working with our internal teams, you’ll assist in the coordination & communication with the typical project partners; Architects, MEPs, General Contractors, AV Integrators, and other specialty subcontractors and vendors. 

This is an ideal role for someone coming from a traditional AV Integration & Engineering background who has technical & creative curiosities, and the desire to move beyond the drudgery of conference rooms.  Creative technologists with a strong background in AV hardware are also encouraged to consider this position. 

This role will report to the Media Systems Architect and will be focused predominantly on the Permanent Exhibits side of the business, however we are occasionally a resource to the Experiences division.  This position is based in Pittsburgh, PA, and will involve travel to projects, and project partner locations.

Responsibilities

  • Handle in-house integration of AV technology in projects; including receiving, setup, config, and pack-out. 
  • Support the Creative Technology & Engineering Departments in standing up mockups & prototypes.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance bill of materials
  • Configure and management of AV/IT Equipment
  • Coordinate with client IT teams to ensure our networking requirements are being met
  • Assisting with on-site installation and commissioning of AV systems 
  • Assist with the creation of close-out and support documentation
  • Maintain contacts with vendor partners, and keep abreast of current industry trends & emerging technologies; participate in interdisciplinary workshops to help share this knowledge across the organization.
  • Keep learning, help build design tools, and help in raising the collective expertise of the entire Deeplocal team. 

Skills & Qualifications

  • 2 - 3 years experience in the Audiovisual or Creative Technology Field
  • An understanding of the Architectural, Construction & Audiovisual Integration industries, and how they intersect. 
  • Experience in AutoCAD, Rhino, and/or Revit is a plus
  • A basic understanding of computer networking and bash/linux command line operation is also a plus.

Location

This is a Pittsburgh based position with hybrid flexibility - Expected to be in-studio three or more days per week.
