Head of Sales & Marketing, Gumband – Remote or Pgh-local

Deeplocal is hiring a Head of Sales & Marketing to develop and implement product launch and growth strategies for Gumband, a first-of-its-kind IoT platform for interactive environments, including customer experience centers, retail spaces, and museums. This is a leadership position with a great deal of independence and growth potential.

Gumband is Deeplocal’s proprietary platform and is currently being used internally. This role presents a unique opportunity to externalize and launch Gumband — a new SaaS product — with the benefit of tapping into Deeplocal’s expertise as an interactive experience developer for some of the world’s top brands, including Google, Facebook, and TikTok.

Gumband is backed by WPP, the world’s largest holding company of global agencies that specialize in advertising, communications, technology, and commerce. Gumband is being incubated within world-renowned design and innovation studio Deeplocal and has support from Deeplocal executives and staff. This role will report directly to Deeplocal’s executive leadership. 

The Head of Sales & Marketing is responsible and accountable for successfully introducing Gumband to the market, bringing in revenue, and gaining traction. You’ll work closely with a small, agile team including Gumband’s Director of Product Engineering and UX/UI Designer. In addition, there is a strong possibility that you’ll be managing a future team of supporting sales & marketing staff.



  • Validate Gumband’s target areas through research.
  • Build out a sales & marketing strategy, beginning with a go-to-market plan.
  • Craft Gumband’s value proposition and targeted messaging.
  • Work alongside the Director of Product Engineering to optimize business and product.


  • Define Gumband’s brand voice and look & feel.
  • Develop sales tools including but not limited to a revamped website, sales presentations, case studies, and demo videos.
  • Expand Gumband’s digital presence with email and content marketing. (Efforts may include blog content for informational and SEO purposes, webinar content, thought leadership opportunities for events, etc.)
  • Implement SEO best practices.
  • Develop and implement paid search campaigns.


  • Cultivate client prospects and channel partners, maintaining a healthy sales pipeline using CRM software.
  • Lead sales presentations to prospective clients.
  • Act as an advocate for prospective clients by listening to their goals and needs and responding promptly and strategically to requests. Communicate clearly and effectively. Travel when necessary for client sales presentations and demos.
  • Tactfully communicate quotes and budget implications to clients.
  • Write all sales contracts and lead negotiations with clients to ensure final execution.
  • Report business financials and sales forecasts to Deeplocal CEO and CFO. 

Desired Skills

  • 10+ years of brand/product marketing and business development experience.
  • Experience marketing a SaaS product (required).
  • Experience with business financials and forecasts.
  • Excited by new challenges and “startup” environments.
  • Comfortable with developing strategies and implementing them; eventually, this role will be supported by additional sales & marketing team members, but you’ll be wearing all the hats in the early stages.
  • Creative thinker and problem solver; flexible and adaptable.
  • Highly organized with exceptional communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong writer.
  • Proficiency with software tools including Google Workspace (G Suite), Zendesk Sell or similar CRM platforms, Mailchimp, and Squarespace.
  • Proficiency with paid search platforms (Google Ads and similar).


This position is open to remote candidates outside of Pittsburgh, PA, but candidates must be willing to travel to Pittsburgh and/or client locations as required for sales efforts.
