The Creative Director, Experience concepts, presents, and carries through a holistic vision for interactive spaces and experiences—steering storytelling, design, and interaction decisions on projects. The position is a split between creative leadership and hands-on project contributions. This role reports to Deeplocal’s Chief Innovation Officer and leads interdisciplinary teams of designers, engineers, producers, and storytellers on first-of-their-kind experiential projects for innovative brand clients.
Candidates for this role must have a portfolio of beautiful interactive physical art, installations, or spaces and a history of leading cross-functional teams. Ideal applicants have a background in physical design, such as interaction design, architecture, or industrial design. The right candidate for this role possesses exceptional presentation skills and can inspire and instill confidence in his or her team and clients. He or she should be interested in technology and stay current on new technologies and product features.
The Creative Director, Experience will have the creative and production support of the brightest minds in the creative engineering field to collaborate with. This staff includes full time roboticists, industrial designers, architects, strategists, and electrical, mechanical, and software engineers (many whom are a hybrid of the aforementioned). Additionally, they’ll have access to Deeplocal’s full fabrication facility on the first floor of the company’s Pittsburgh headquarters, where the team prototypes and builds every interactive experience they dream up.

Deeplocal has been behind some of the industry’s most talked about campaigns: Netflix Socks, Nike Chalkbot, Lyft Auto Tunes, and more. We also build innovative experiences and products for the tech industry’s biggest conferences, and for office and retail spaces around the globe.
Our studio is in a renovated brewery loft in Sharpsburg, PA, just outside of downtown Pittsburgh and right across the river from Lawrenceville. We have snacks, a pool table, and a 12,000 square foot fabrication shop.
